As we celebration May as Mental Health Awareness Month, Emergence Health Network would like to remind our community that caring for our mental health is just as important as caring for our physical health not only through the month of May but everyday. We use this time to encourage residents to talk about their mental well-being with friends, co-workers, and family. Starting those conversations is the start to shedding the stigma associated with receiving services.
Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States and 2nd leading cause among young adults. However, long delays which are sometimes decades, often occur between the time symptoms first appear and when individuals get help. Early identification and treatment can make a difference in successful management of mental illness and recovery.
Join EHN and others in our community throughout the month of May for a series of events to bring awareness to the importance of mental wellness.
