Crisis Line
The Mental Health (MH) Crisis Line provides 24-hour telephone counseling and crisis intervention for El Pasoans experiencing emotional distress or severe mental health crises. Service linkages range from referrals to the El Paso Psychiatric Center to referrals for individual counseling at EHN and other community agencies. The Crisis Line is manned by master’s level qualified mental health professionals and backed up by on-call professionals. The Crisis Line also serves as the after-hours backup for the Sexual Assault Outreach Program, the Alzheimer’s Identification Program, and the Army Community Services Program.
Crisis Walk-in Services
EHN crisis walk-in services provide El Pasoans experiencing emotional distress or severe mental health crises immediate, face-to-face counseling and crisis intervention. Qualified mental health professionals provide or link individuals to those services best suited to their needs. These services may include brief intervention, crisis counseling and support, referral for long-term treatment, and/or referral to the El Paso Psychiatric Center. A psychiatrist is available if immediate medication or psychiatric intervention is needed.
